Upcoming Influenza Vaccine Clinics
We've finished out our 2025-26 flu vaccine season mass clinics but still have vaccine in the office to give upon appointment.
- In a nutshell (see below for details):All flu vaccine clinics are for established and active patients who have had well visits within the past 15 months.
- New patients may be eligible if we have records showing a well visit during the past 15 months.
- If a patient has not had a well visit in this timeframe, they can schedule a well visit and get vaccinated at that time if inventory allows.
- Insurance & Cost:
- Insurance will be billed for all vaccines given to those who are insured.
- There is separate stock for VFC (Medicaid) vs Privately Insured patients, so availability of inventory will vary based on insurance.
- There is no copay for vaccine clinics.
- If you get a vaccine during a regularly scheduled visit, your standard copay applies for that visit.
- Cash price will be $50 for those without insurance.
- Parents are not able to be vaccinated at our vaccine clinics due to staffing limitations, but may be vaccinated during regularly scheduled visits if inventory and staffing allows.
- We will offer multiple flu vaccine clinics, either as drive through or in-office based on weather predictions. These will be scheduled based on staffing and inventory. We expect initial clinics to fill quickly. Please be patient if you do not get into the first clinic. We cannot vaccinate everyone that first day, but there will be plenty of opportunities!
- We will hold evening and weekend clinics as well as clinics on select no-school days in each office per staffing and inventory.
- We will send notifications through Phreesia, our check-in system. If you do not get our check-in texts prior to scheduled visits, you may have opted out of our texts and will not receive these. Send a text message saying “UNSTOP” to 8664671139 to re-subscribe.
- Injectable and nasal spray flu vaccines will be available this season, but what is in stock at any given time will vary.
- We will offer flu vaccination during office hours in the following situations:
- during a regularly scheduled visit for all eligible patients and their siblings when clinically appropriate and inventory allows. (Note: We cannot offer vaccines during our walk in clinc, only scheduled visits.)
- during scheduled flu vaccine clinics.
- Scheduling for flu vaccine clinics must be done through the portal.
- If you want a family member who is not being seen but is present at a scheduled visit to get a flu vaccine during a visit, please notify staff at check-in. This may include parents and siblings of the patient being seen. Failure to notify staff during check-in may result in our inability to make the time for this add on, depending on staffing.
Flu vaccine clinic information
Clinics are offered at our Overland Park and Olathe locations at various dates and times. Either location can be used, regardless of where your primary office is. Pay attention to the location at which you are registering.
- As we receive our influenza vaccine supply and secure staffing we will release dates of new clinics. The dates will be available in the portal as soon as they are scheduled. If you do not see dates, that means there are no open dates currently but more will open soon. Sometimes spots open as people cancel, so check back regularly to see if there are spots.
- Patients who do not have insurance or have Medicaid will be using VFC supplied vaccines.
- These are separate from the vaccine supply we purchase for those with commercial insurance and are not available at our mass clinics due to limited supply.
- The vaccines are of equal quality, the only difference is how we get the vaccine.
- We are not allowed to "share" vaccine between VFC and private stock.
- Other locations that offer VFC vaccines are listed from a link at the bottom of the KDHE VFC page under the "Enrollment" tab.
- Drive through vaccine clinic tip: dress your children so that an arm or leg is easily accessible without removing clothing. They will remain buckled in their seat.
- Flu vaccine clinics are for influenza vaccines only. If a different vaccine is needed, please call the office to schedule the other vaccine and a flu vaccine can be given at that appointment.
- Dates of Clinics are announced by portal messaging. If you have opted out of these or missed the message, you can log into the portal to search for dates.
- Click Practice Portal to check for updated schedules.
- We will continue to add clinic times as we get the supply and staff to do the clinics. We kindly ask that you please refrain from calling the office or sending portal messages to inquire about future vaccine clinics. Our staff won’t have clinic details until they’re officially announced on the portal—so checking there is truly the fastest and most reliable way to stay updated. Thank you for your patience during the flu vaccine season! Our team works hard to respond to medically urgent questions, and your patience helps us prioritize care where it’s needed most. We appreciate your support and cooperation — it makes a big difference.

Flu Vaccine Availability
Flu Vaccine Availability
1.2026
We have flu vaccine for both privately insured and VFC-eligible patients.
We are out of FluMist (nasal spray vaccine) and will not get any more until next season.
VFC vs privately insured vaccine
- Privately insured patient vaccines are separate from those covered by the Vaccines For Children (VFC) program, including uninsured and those on Medicaid plans.
- VFC flu vaccines tend to come in very limited amounts and we cannot use private stock for these patients.
- Patients who do not have insurance or have Medicaid will be using VFC supplied vaccines. These are separate from the vaccine supply we purchase for those with commercial insurance. The vaccines are of equal quality, the only difference is how we get the vaccine.
- We are not allowed to "share" vaccine between VFC and private stock. Historically VFC flu vaccines supplied to our office are very limited in number.
- Your local health department is another location to get vaccinated if we are out of stock.
How to sign up for flu vaccines
In office during regularly scheduled visits
- If your child has a scheduled appointment in the office, we strongly encourage you to vaccinate during that visit. This helps keep our drive-through clinics open for families who don’t have appointments and ensures smoother access for all.
- We will offer influenza vaccines to all patients who are up to date on their annual well visits and their parents when they are in the office during regularly scheduled office visits (per vaccine availability). This includes siblings who are in the clinic at the time of a scheduled visit.
- If a parent or sibling would like to be vaccinated during a scheduled visit, please ask during check in. This allows the front staff to get these vaccines scheduled and the nurse can get the process started. If you wait until you are in the room, it may not be possible to vaccinate those who are not checked in up front due to time constraints.
Vaccine clinics
- We will offer flu vaccine clinics on select evenings, weekends, and non-school days to try to accommodate as many as possible.
- Dates of Clinics are announced by portal messaging. If you have opted out of these or missed the message, you can log into the portal to search for dates. Click Practice Portal to check for updated schedules.
- Patients who are up to date with their annual well visits can schedule for a vaccine clinic. If you do not see dates for one child, it may be that they require a well visit. Our system will not allow those who are ineligible to schedule.
- Each child must be registered separately for vaccine clinics.
- Parents are not able to participate in our mass vaccination clinics due to time constraints at these clinics.
FluMist only clinics
- No injectable vaccines will be given during these clinics, they are for the nose spray version, FluMist, only.
- Who is eligible?
- Healthy patients over 2 years of age and parents who are under 49 years of age.
- Privately insured patients. (Patients who do not have insurance or have Medicaid will be using VFC supplied vaccines. We do NOT have any FluMist for those with VFC insurance.)

Flu vaccination during regularly scheduled visits
We encourage parents who want to vaccinate their children to do so at regularly scheduled visits when we have the vaccine in stock to help decrease the need at vaccine clinics and to get protection started as soon as possible.
Sign up for vaccine clinics:
When there are openings in our flu vaccine clinics, you will find them in the portal.
If there are no openings, there will be new clinics opening soon. Please be patient! Watch our social media and check the portal for new openings. Please do not call to ask when more clinics will be available - staff will not know. As soon as inventory and staff are secured, our managers open spots in the portal. You can see these spots at the same time as staff.
Step #1
Log into one patient chart. Schedule one child at a time.
Step #2
Choose location of the office - search dates by location. If there is no date with the first location you search, try the other location. If there are no openings, you will not see any appointment times, but we will open more as we get supplies and staffing set for new dates.

Step #3

Choose "flu clinic portal" as the appointment type.

Step #4

Search for either "next available" or "around this date" if you have a preferred date - such as if it needs to be at least 28 days after the first dose for those getting vaccinated against influenza for the first time. In general using "next available" then forwarding to the date you need tends to work best.

Flu Vaccine Information and Our Recommendations
General flu vaccine information

- We recommend everyone over 6 months of age get a flu vaccine each year. If your child is getting one for the first time, he or she will need two doses to be considered fully covered. Most infants can get at least one of these at a regularly scheduled well visit since they are seen so frequently.
- Egg allergy is no longer considered a contraindication or precaution for flu vaccination. We encourage those with egg allergy to get vaccinated annually.
- Vaccines available:
- Fluzone (injectable for everyone over 6 months of age)
- FluMist (for those 2-49 years who are healthy and not living with an immunocompromised person)
- Scheduled for an appointment? If your child is in the office for any scheduled appointment and in need of a flu vaccine, we'll be able to give it at that time. This can help you avoid flu vaccine clinics and help us serve more people in a timely fashion.
- Get up to date on routine care! If your child is not up to date on well visits, now's the time to get their annual physical scheduled! A flu vaccine can be given along with any other vaccines your child needs at that visit. Patients who are not current on well visits will not be able to use our vaccine clinics because we want to provide the best medical care to everyone, and a yearly visit is recommended as a standard of care. We will make exceptions for middle and high school students who are rolling their well visit timing to meet the summer sports physical requirement.
- VFC: Patients who do not have insurance or have Medicaid will be using VFC supplied vaccines. These are separate from the vaccine supply we purchase for those with commercial insurance. The vaccines are of equal quality, the only difference is how we get the vaccine. Availability of the vaccine supplies will vary based on insurance due to this. This will be identified on the sign up. We are not allowed to "share" vaccine between VFC and private stock. Your local health department is another location to get vaccinated if we are out of stock.
- We offer Drive Thru Flu Vaccine Clinics when weather appropriate.
- All flu vaccines will be scheduled through the portal unless they are done at the time of another regularly scheduled visit.
- When should you get a flu vaccine? The best time to get a flu vaccine is by Halloween, but if you aren't able to get it by then, don't worry! It's still okay to get it later than that. We've seen a little influenza even over the summer, so it's not too soon to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
- Promote vaccines! When you get your flu shot, take a flu shot selfie and post with #flushotselfie to be in the cool crowd!
- Parents may be able to get flu vaccines in our office during regularly scheduled appointments but NOT during vaccine clinics due to the large volumes at the clinics.
- Pharmacies offer flu vaccines to patients over 6 years of age in Kansas (7 years and older in Missouri) if you are not able to get vaccinated at our clinics.
- Be safe: Consider a mask when infection rates are high and wash your hands routinely to fight ALL infections!
- How many doses does your child 6 months through 8 years need?
- Children in this age group getting vaccinated for the 1st time, those who have only previously received 1 dose of flu vaccine, and whose flu vaccination history is unknown, should get 2 doses of influenza vaccine this season. The second dose can be given 28 days or more after the first.

Who is (and is not) eligible for a flu vaccine?
Who is eligible for flu vaccine clinics?
- Vaccine will be available for commercially insured patients over 6 months of age who are up to date on well visits and have been seen in the office in the last 15 months.
- Patients MUST have a current credit card and updated insurance information on file. This can be done through the Phreesia check in - just follow the text link.
- You will get a text prior to the clinic to confirm your appointment. All appointments must be confirmed by following the link in the text. This will "order" tasks for you to complete. These questions MUST be answered prior to going to the vaccine clinic. Failure to do so would slow the process for everyone, so if the surveys are not completed prior to arrival the vaccine cannot be given.
- Each patient must be registered separately to receive the flu vaccine and will need an individual survey completed.
- Parents may be able to receive flu vaccines in our office when they are with their child, but we must focus on our patients for the vaccine clinics. If you desire a vaccine, call your doctor or go to a local pharmacy.
- If a patient is not cooperative or does not meet our criteria as listed above, we reserve the right to deny providing the influenza vaccine.
Who is NOT eligible for our vaccine clinics?
- Any patient who is not up to date on their well visits. For most this means a well visit within the past 12 months.
- We recognize that some athletes wait past 12 months to meet the requirement of sports forms, so if your athlete is not up to date but has a plan to get to yearly well visits, we will make exceptions.
- If your child has not had an age appropriate well visit (physical exam) in the past 12-15 months, schedule a well visit rather than a flu vaccine. The vaccine can be given at the well visit as long as it is in stock.
- We will not vaccinate any teen drivers for their safety. Teens must be accompanied by a parent driver to receive the flu vaccine.
- Vaccine clinics are for patients with commercial insurance plans only, NOT MEDICAID. We must use VFC vaccines for those on Medicaid plans and we do not get these in sufficient quantities to offer them at vaccine clinics.
- If a patient is not cooperative or does not meet our criteria as listed above, we reserve the right to deny providing the influenza vaccine during our clinics.
Billing for flu vaccine clinics
Billing
- Vaccine charges will be submitted through insurance.
- Your Credit Card on File will be charged for self-pay accounts.
- If you are at a scheduled visit or walk in visit for another reason, standard billing for that visit in addition to the vaccine will be done.
How do flu vaccine clinics work?
How the Flu Vaccine Clinic Works:
- Families will need to pre-register and complete the tasks sent by text sent by Phreesia prior to the clinic (see above).
- Flu vaccine clinics move fast! We schedule several patients every couple of minutes, so any delays can significantly impact our flow.
- We appreciate if either short sleeve shirts or shorts/skirts are worn to help keep things moving quickly.
- For in office clinics: You will be directed to a patient room.
- For drive through clinics only: No need to leave your car - our nurses will be in our parking lots ready to give the vaccines. Everyone will remain in their car seat or seat belt.
- Dress for success!
- Children over 4 years of age who will have the vaccine in their arm should wear short sleeves to make things move quickly.
- Infants and children who will receive the vaccine in their thigh should wear shorts or a skirt if possible to help speed the process. If it's cold, they can use a blanket to cover their legs.
