- Fluoride provides your child with excellent protection from cavities.
- It is not needed to supplement with fluoride drops if you begin fluoride toothpaste when teeth first erupt.
- Brush the teeth with a grain-of-rice-sized smear of fluorinated toothpaste for infants and toddlers.
- Brush with a pea-sized smear for fluorinated toothpaste beginning at 3 years of age.
- Most infants and children do not need multivitamins. If you are concerned that your child is not getting enough vitamins, please discuss this with us at your next well visit.
